Coach of the Year: Greg Popovich
Saturday, October 22nd, 2011The coach of the year award in the National Basketball Association is a very prestige award. This award has been given out annually since the 1962-1963 basketball season. Only forty coaches has received this trophy named after Red Auerbach. The trophy received his name as an honor after he led the Celtics to nine championships. The coach of the year is selected by a panel of Canadian and American sportswriters who for whom they feel are the first, second and third place selections.
